According to the directorate general of foreign trade (DGFT), “All ventilators including any artificial respiratory apparatus or oxygen therapy apparatus or any other breathing appliance/device are made free for export.”
This said ban was enforced from the 24th of March in order to keep an adequate supply to fight Covid-19 pandemic. However, on 1st August, the proposal by a group of ministers on Covid-19 has been considered and agreed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and thus, allowing the export of made-in-India ventilators.
